Enough . . .: Doctor who ordered your TSH can prescribe you enough levothyroxine to get your TSH down between 0.4 & 4.5 (depending upon your lab's normal reference range). You should check your TSH every 6 weeks or so after a dose change and at least once more after that to be sure your TSH is stable & your dose is appropriate. Your dose may depend to some extent upon your weight, ~1.7mcg/kg per epocrates.Com.
