NOT LIKELY: Anorexia or "anorexia nervosa" involves a fear of eating due to a person's distorted sense of their own body size, shape, and/or weight. This fear of eating causes one to skip and/or avoid meals altogether which, in turn, results in weight loss. Body fat may also decrease and, when too low in menstruating women, periods may cease. Onset is most often seen during teenage years.
