Anorexia definition: Anorexia is loss of appetite for food. Anorexia nervosa is a an eating disorder that is serious and often difficult to treat. Someone who has a loss of appetite can be referred to as anorexic. An overweight person eating a small meal a day to lose weight is not "anorexic".
