Need more info: Cannot possibly answer this without a full history and physical examination. If your doctor has been doing this they are in the best position to make the determination, but simple lower urinary tract infections are seldom serious. Do not know what the brown discharge is. Ask the doctor.

Urinary tract : Infection per se is not serious . It should clear with ten days of oral antibiotics. Follow your doctors instructions.
