Must be cultured: especially if you are having unprotected sexual intercourse. I suggest a GYN exam and testing.

STD? Yeast? Other?: Colored vaginal discharge usually indicates an infection other than yeast. Depending on sexual risks (new partner, partner with other partners, etc), STDs are especially likely, e.g. gonorrhea or chlamydia. Yeast also is possible and typically causes itching, but probably less likely, so don't treat yourself for yeast. See a doctor soon for exam and testing. Good luck!

Fungal infection should not last for 3 years and period does not alleviate itching due to fungal vaginitis. You need to be examined by a gynecologist.
