Gauze yes steri no: You have had a laparoscopic gallbladder removed. The incision was from the belly button. Your doctor most likely gave you instructions to follow. It should be safe to remove the gauze or padding if it is falling off. Under that may be a white sticky steri-strip. Leave that in place. If you are having discharge, redness, excess swelling or pain, then call office.
