Yes: These indicate that red blood cells are much larger than normal. There are several reasons this may occur. Diseases such as pernicious anemia, hemolytic anemia, liver problems, alcoholism, folate (folic acid) deficiency, and myelodysplasia are some. Certain medications can also lead to this.
