Alopecia: It seems like you might have alopecia areata which is a disorder where the immune system destroys the hairs. It can often be successfully treated by your dermatologist. They will also want to check to be sure that no other autoantibodies exist in your body. Go see your dermatologist for evaluation and treatment.

Alopecia areata: Localized alopecia areata does respond well to kenalog (triamcinolone) injections into the areas of hair loss. These are usually done once a month until all the hair regrows. Thyroid antibodies and parietal cell antibodies need to be in addition to thyroid functions. This is done not because thyroid issues cause alopecia areata, but because they can occur together and we don't want to miss thyroid problems.
