Often normal: It is often normal not to conceive the first couple months. In fact, only 50% of couples are pregnant after 6 months of trying. If you have attempted pregnancy for a year without conception (if no other concerning factors present) then seek infertility evaluation and treatment.

See doctor: When trying to conceive a child it is wise to talk to your doctor and let them know. One of the most important aspects is to start a prenatal vitamin. This may decrease neural tube defects.
