Most likely not: Laparoscpic instrument tips are made of stainless steal or titanium and are small. It would be preferable to remove the tip. However, if it can not be removed it should not cause any complications. Patient schould be informed. Metal staples are left in the abdominal cavity with no complications. X-ray can aid in localizing the metal tip. Exploratory laparotomy would cause more risk of morbidity.
