A member asked:

The surgeon who performed laparoscopic cholecystectomy told me that he saw my liver and it's normal. by normal does it generally mean the architecture of the liver is normal with no fibrosis/cirrhosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A statement of "normal liver" via "laparoscopic view" is not adequate to determine liver fibrosis or cirrhosis. Ultrasound or CT of the upper abdomen will provide a more clear picture of potential liver abnormalities.
