Disc displacement?: It sounds like you have a closed locked jaw displacement this is many times associated with a disc displacement of your jaw on that side and your muscle is trying to support your dislocated joint. Your temporal muscle could be in spasm from overuse. If you have limited opening and you jaw swings to the affected side on opening see a TMJ dentist to DX and help to unlock you.
