Start w/ PCP: There are some different considerations here, so i'd get an eval by your primary care doc so s/he can point you in the right direction if more eval/tx needed. Sometimes this is an infectious type process, but if the "swollen sweat glands" are actually lymph nodes you'll need more eval.

Hidradenitis: The technical name for swollen sweat glands is hidradenitis suppurativa. It is treated by dermatologists, usually with antibiotics and surgery, among other things. There is no accepted means of prevention, although there is some evidence that vitamin c may be helpful.
