What is the difference between a suspicious mass in the armpit and a swollen/clogged sweat gland?

Exam: Good question! often it is difficult for a patient to know the difference between a suspicious mass in the axilla (armpit) and an obstructed or infected sweat gland or hair follicle. If it is red or has a discharge suspect infection and use warm compresses and antibiotics. If it is hard and non-tender it could be serious. See your doctor for an exam.
