A member asked:

My dad is 91 and his urine is dark red, brown, reddish brown and sometimes normal. took him to urology and had his urine checked and it was normal.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Urine color: Blood in the urine often occurs intermittantly. While blood in the urine can cause these color variations, it is not the only possibility. Most commonly, inadequate fluid intake will reuslt in concentrated urine and darker color. It is also possible that there is a problem with liver function.
