A member asked:

My blood work came back with elevated ssa auto antibodies, high jo-1 autoantibodies and my complement total was high, what does this indicate?

These tests: These tests have to be interpreted in the context of your current symptoms, your exam and the rest of your test results. False positive antibody results can occur and it is up to your doctor to interpret these. If you are not seeing a rheumatologist, you may want to see one, .

Need more info: You need tell why the tests were ordered in the first place. What symptoms do you have? Test results cannot be accurately interpreted in a vacuum as ssa and jo-1 antibodies can be positive in normal on occasion. In general elevated complements mean nothing, jo-1 can be positive in anti-synthetase syndrome (look it up) and ssa positive in sle or sjogren's.
