Noninvasive Treament: Though the radiology report may read annular tear, as a spine surgeon who has often correlated what was read as an annular tear on an MRI report with visual inspection of the annulus in surgery, what is considered an annular tear by a radiologist equates to nothing of structural or clinical significance. These MRI descriptors do not represent clinically significant pain generators.
