Probiotics: You can give him probiotics but it will have no effect on his cold. More importantly, use saline nose drops in his nose several times a day. Keep the vaporizer on and elevate his mattress where he sleeps.

Yes you can: I don't know if probiotics would help congestion but you can use florastar for kids if you want to.
