Vital signs: For a young man those are both too high. Your blood pressure should be around 120/80 and your pulse at rest should be around 60-80. There are several things that could affect these numbers, but if you are using any caffeinated drinks or "energy" drinks you need to stop. Nicotine is also a stimulant. Just a tad bit high: The 142/91 is just slightly high and so not really concerning for a person without other illness--such as diabetes. Also, how and when is this reading done?If you have no other medical problem, google up the dietary approach to stop hypertension (dash) diet and follow it. Increase aerobic exercise will help lower the BP and heart rate as well. If persistent, consult doc. Good luck.
