Need more info: What lump, where? The testicles hang to keep them at the temperature that keeps them alive and functioning, which is a little below body temperature. The scrotum is not supposed to be "hard, " but does thicken when contracted, like if exposed to cold air/water, to bring testicles closer to body. No home remedy for normal.
