See below: The term "chocolate" ovarian cyst usually is used to describe an endometrioma. This is due to implantation of the endotrial tissues of the uterus inside the pelvic cavity (outside of the uterus). I've only heard of surgery (lapproscopy) to remove the endometriomas. Other treatments are more for symptoms.
