Skin involved: Scleroderma is divided in to localized types and systemic types. Localized forms (morphea, linear) have a few patches or lines of affected skin. Systemic types (limited, diffuse) involve more widespread areas of skin and may affect internal organs. The distinction between limited scleroderma and diffuse scleroderma refers to the amount of skin involved.
