A member asked:

I have had my doctors prescribe forteo. there have been 28, 000 falls reported. should i do it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes if indicated: Forteo is usually prescribed to prevent spontaneous fracture from severe osteoporosis. You have either failed other treatments or were found to be so osteopoorotic you are at risk of breaking bones without falling. The benefit far outweighs the risk . Keep in minf if everyone who is prescribed Forteo is at risk for falling isn't it more likey the falls are related to the risk and not the injection.
