Need proper valuatio: Before starting amphetamines you should have a proper evaluation for medical causes of your sleepiness, such as thyroid disease. Most important, see a sleep specialist and have a sleep study, which is the only way to accurately characterize a sleep disorder.

Sleep Study: A sleep study is warranted by your symptoms. If a sleep study results in a diagnosis of narcolepsy or sleep apnea, then a prescription for Modifinil (Provigil) could be helpful. Without the sleep study there is too much danger to you to just take Adderall--and too much danger to others if you truly have narcolepsy. Go to a sleep clinic, soon.
