A member asked:

How long does it usually take for a bowel blockage to happen if not able to have a bowel movement? what are the signs that require surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vomiting and fever: A true bowel obstruction will result in severe abdominal pain, vomiting (usually projectile) and fever. Sounds like you might benefit from trying to take a laxative. Good luck!
