Depends: If your hiatal hernia is large and/or symptomatic, repair should be considered. Regarding the ventral hernia, it should be repaired to prevent it from getting worse or to relieve symptoms - essentially the same for the hiatal hernia. Clinical circumstances vary greatly, so see a surgeon with experience in these types of operations for a consult.
