Slightly: But herpes can enter the skin thru minor cracks, fissures, tears and therefore washing is not enough. First, you and your partner should be tested. Second, use condoms all the time. Third, if your partner is positive for herpes, consider medication to reduce risk of transmission.

Herpes : The herpes virus may enter the body through the mucous membranes or through any disruption or cut in the skin surface. Therefore washing alone is not going to stop an infection.
