Strep throat: Strep infection is caused by bacteria called group a beta-hemolytic streptococcus. Was he tested for strep and treated for it? If so, other causes of sore throat could be a viral infection, dryness of the throat caused by snoring, allergies, reflux, etc. An ENT specialist should be consulted.
