Ankle swelling: Each ankle fracture can vary depending on location and severity. Sometimes the swelling last longer after initial tx and this is accompanied by pain. Usually, if swelling is parallel to the level of fracture severity, seek your treating surgeon for further care. Try rest, icing, compression with ankle wrap or brace, and elevation.. Anti-inflammatory meds recommended.
