Exposed dentin: Is a sensitivity issue for many. Let your dentist evaluate the areas. Soda and acidic drinks can worsen the problem. Some abrasive toothpastes can also be an issue. Brushing technique is important. Use soft bristle brushes. Occlusion/bite issues are also a cause in tooth sensitivity. Consider sensitivity fighting pastes. Visit w your dentist about their ideas to help!

Decrease sensitivity: When dentin is exposed there are a few things that can reduce sensitivity. Use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Add a Fluoride rinse to your regimen. Your dentist or hygienist can apply desensitizing agents to the area at your next appt. If the defect is large, a tooth colored filling can be placed as well. Hope that helps.
