Needs attention. : A fasting blood sugar 125 or higher on two occasions indicates diabetes. Biggest contributor is overweight. Weight loss through a low calorie, low carb, low alcohol diet plus vigorous aerobic exercise can dramatically reduce glucose. Any lifestyle program has to be sustained lomg-term. Eventually you may need medications. Metformin and januvia (sitagliptin) are safe and effective.

Positive Glucose Tes: Fasting blood glucose of >126 is concerning for diabetes (dm) and should be confirmed by another test. A hemoglobin a1c can tell you the glucose level over 3 months. Early symptoms of dm are fatigue, increased thirst and large volume urination. Alcohol contains a large amount if sugar and should be avoided. Follow the mediterranean diet and see your doctor!
