Metatarsalgia: Probably an inflammation of one of the joints where the foot meets the toe. You may also have inflamed one of the nerves in your foot. If the pain persists in well fitted flats see a doctor especially if there is swelling or a deformity. You may be suffering from a stress reaction or fracture.

Tendonitis?: You may have tendonitis or joint capsulitis but get x-ray to make sure it's not a fracture . If not fracture then rest, ice, elevate and see a podiatrist and get nsaids as well.
