Cystic fibrosis: The spots could be due pneumonia or fungal infection.

CF culture: The areas of the chest x ray which are white may represent mucus plugging, infection, a reaction to fungus. A culture of her respiratory secretions may reveal the type of bacteria living in the airway. Certain types of bacteria, particularly staph, pseudomonas, and h flu can cause lung infections in CF patients. I hope this helps.
