5 weeks: This is confusing. Conventionally, the gestational age is dated from the last menstrual period, even though you are not pregnant until 2 weeks later. The true gestation of a fetus is 38 weeks until the due date and not 40. Obstetric providers and websites will date use the conventional dating (from last period) unless otherwise stated. Embryonic age would refer to dating from conception.

Usually LMP: Most are based on date of last period (lmp). If you are unsure which method the website is using, look to see what the last week is. If you date from lmp, pregnancy lasts until 40 weeks.
