When i lie down at night with my back to the bed and head on the pillow i get this feeling of a heart beat in my ears...what could it be?

Normal: Most people become aware of their heartbeat at night sometimes. This is not unusual. If you have a clogged ear (serous otits media), it will be even louder. If you turn left side down, it will be even louder. If it bothers you, try white noise or music in your room at night. Or just ignore it. Think of a baby in its mother's womb listening to her heart: it's a relaxing & reassuring sound of life!

Arterial pulse: It will be your carotid artery pulsating. Normal occurrence. There is a rare anomaly of the carotid artery going through the middle ear. It won't be your case.
