A 23-year-old female asked:
what type of herpes would present on the palm of your hand?

Herpes on the Hand: This is very rare and if you have not been told by an expert then this may be something else. The type of herpes you have on your hand could be either type 1 or type 2. You need a blood test to tell you which herpes you have.

A 32-year-old male asked:
If a person got exposed to herpes on hand can this have outbreak on private parts?
1 doctor answer • 1 doctor weighed in

Dr. Robert Kwok answered
Pediatrics 33 years experience
Can transfer virus: Not likely, but... if a person gets his first exposure to herpes viruses on his hand, and does not yet have antibodies to block such viruses, he can touch his private parts and transfer viruses to his private parts and thus have his "first exposure" simultaneously on his hands and his private parts. As always in life, think first, touch second... and as Grandma says, "Wash your hands, young man."
