Dysphagia: Symptoms described need evaluation asap, ideally by gim if not by your internist or fp. Painful dysphagia (odynophagia) to liquids suggest pathology involving the esophagus & less likely the stomach. For e.g., diffuse esophageal spasm, esophageal motility disorders, achalasia, etc. Can cause dysphagia to liquids without dysphagia to solids. Malignancy less likely with dysphagia to liquids alone.
