Diet and muscle mass: To gain weight you have to consume more calories than you are burning. Do this in a healthy way though. Don't choose junk or fast food. Keep a well balanced diet and make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need. Don't cut out exercise as it is very good for you. Weight lifting and other muscle building exercises can help you increase your body mass.

Yes and no: If you control your calorie intake and then run everyday, you will lose faster compared to just running everyday without controlling calorie intake.

Eat and lose weight: Eating one meal a day will actually make it harder to lose weight. That will actually slow your metabolism down. Eating 3, or even 5 small meals a day is much better believe it or not. You can have 4 small meals/snacks throughout the day and have a high protein & vegetable meal at the end of the day. The frequent meals tends to speed up your metabolism (just don't over eat). Keep up the exercise!

Likely yes: Most likely yes. But it depends on what you eat and how much. Also stress reduction because stress does increase inflammatory chemicals in your body which increase fat deposition.

A 26-year-old female asked:
If I do about 2-2 1/2 hours running each day plus an hr or two at the gym will I lose weight?

Very likely ...: ... but it also depends on what you eat. Some people say, "I work out so I can eat anything!", but that isn't really true or healthy. And how could you possibly have time to spend 3.5 to 4.5 hours a day working out and running unless you are a professional athlete and that is your job!? That much exercise could easily result in injury or overuse problems. Eat sensibly and work out an hour a day:)
