How many days are required to recover from jaundice in new born baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Family practice: It matters how high the bilirubin went and the cause. If its ABO blood type incompatibility the it may take longer and more aggressive measures. Newborns have underdeveloped livers and have high bilirubin levels anyway. If levels increase more than 5 each day it's considered abnormally high. A bili light is used and treated until levels get under 10 or close to it usually 3 days.
