Second opinion?: Oral thrush appears as a whitish coating and does not cause bumps. You may have had two separate findings. The bumps might have been normal or inflamed taste buds. Were you treated for the thrush? I would see an oral surgeon for a second opinion if you do not have confidence in your present dentist or his\her diagnosis and advice.
