Get him to dentist: You can give your child tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen as you would for a minor pain for now. Bot get your child to a dentist as soon as possible to find out why there is pain and get him treated.

Generally: Ibuprofen usually works best for toothaches but the best thing to do is to have him see a dentist to get him out of pain. Dosing depends on your child's weight so follow the dosing instructions on the box.

See your dentist: Consider making an appointment with your pediatric dentist to find out the reason why your child has a toothache. It could be something as simple as a permanent tooth that is erupting or it could be a tooth that has a cavity or it could be a tooth that has an infection. A dentist will be able to figure out what is causing the pain and treat it appropriately.
