Prob not needed: According to the ada and the aha, antibiotic prophylaxis for calcified aortic stenosis is no longer necessary. If your cardiologist feels that you still need premedication, then the medicine that you should take should be prescribed by him/her. Since Amoxicillin can also be used for prophylaxis, that may be a better choice in this instance.

The only thing that i would like to add is this: patients should always discuss these types of issues with the health care provider that is actually treating them, and should not rely on internet research or even asking doctors online for what medications to take. We try to be helpful but your own doctor is the one responsible.
