A member asked:

After suffering a mild heart attack 3 years ago, and now taking high blood pressure medicine, should one consume alcoholic drinks at all?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May be: If you drink alcohol do so in moderation. One to two drinks for men and one for women. One drink is define as per one 12oz beer, 4oz of wine, 1.5 oz of 80 proof spirit, 1oz 100 proof spirit. Aha recommend not to start drinking if you don't drink. Change your lifestyle is a must. Control dm, htn, chol, do not smoke, good healthy diet, physician manage exercise, stress control. Good luck.
