Dangerous Blood Clot: Not usually. A deep vein thrombosis in the calf will cause the calf to swell, be hot red and painful. The swelling is usually worse in the posterior part of the calf. If this is the case you need immediate help and not online searching. If you don't have a swollen hot red calf then it may not be the dangerous problem that deep vein thromboses can cause.
