Different: Tineas are usually caused by dermatophytes or fungi while a granuloma is a inflammatory response.

See below: Agree with Dr. K. Fungi can cause both tinea and granuloma but those are very different types of fungi. There are other causes of granulomas, e.g., Tuberculosis, foreign bodies, sarcoidosis , and autoimmune disorders.
