Fungus: Multiple species of tinea fungus cause infections known as ringworm and may vary depending on the part of the body affected. They feed on keratin and can be fairly contagious. Estimated that 20% of the population may have some type of fungal infection, and can be transmitted to and from pets as well. Multiple treatments both topical and oral available once correct diagnosis made.
