A member asked:

I am b+ and my wife is o- have there any problem with her pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: When the mother is rh - , and the father is rh + , then the mother needs Rhogam if there is any bleeding in the pregnancy. Additionally, Rhogam is given around 28 weeks routinely. This is done to prevent a potentially rh+ fetus from sensitizing the mother. If sensitization occurs, this can be quite serious requiring management by a maternal fetal specialist. Discuss further with your doctor.
