Unlikely: Appendicitis would be very unusual in an infant, but anything is possible. If your baby has belly pain, swelling, poor feeding, fever and/or vomiting, they need to be examined right away.

Variable: Appendicitis is unlikely in babies. In children under five it does not have the typical symptoms you see in older children. If you have any concerns about appendicitis, be seen.

Pain, fever, won't eat: This is almost unheard of under 1yo & I have seen only 1 in a 15-18mo in 30 yrs. The intestine seems to be resistant early on but that fades with age, food chalanges and illness, peeking in the teen years. Low grade fever, loss of appetite, pain & occasional vomiting are seen. If your internal alarm goes off & you know you need the baby checked then do. Better to get good news than miss something.
