A member asked:

Why do i have seizures around menstrual period time...i have them only for two days around that i don't know what the cause is.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Catamenial Epilepsy: A type of seizure seen in conjunction with the menstrual cycle it has been defined by three types: 1) perimenstrually; 2) mid-cycle around ovulation; and 3) throughout the second half of each cycle, between ovulation and menstruation. These types are based on dynamic changes in the blood levels of estrogen and progesterone. Speak with your neurologist about the role of Progesterone for your care.
