I hear about the rise in adhd and think, could this be related to schools focusing too much on testing and only allowing 20.minutes of recess?

ADHD: It is hard to define one single cause. Exercise is very important in child's development and certainly part of the therapy of adhd. I think in part is more awareness from public, teachers and physicians what gives us the impression that there is a higher incidence.

ADHD school relation: The rise in adhd started in the 90's when the feds started paying extra for children with adhd. Consider this: adhd is a genetic disorder you can't have it if one of your parents don't have the genes. Yet, every year since federal funding began the number of children diagnosed is 3x the amount expected from the gene pool. Increased awareness could give a jump for a few years, but not for 20+ years.
